Permacomputing NYC is a newly brewing meetup and community of practice centered around principles of permacomputing, meeting in New York City.
Permacomputing NYC is part of a worldwide distributed community of practice that responds to environmental and societal concerns with big tech inspired by how permaculture responds to industrial agriculture. Permacomputing is a DIY movement with local meetups in many cities. Our Permacomputing NYC meetups are usually held monthly, most commonly at independent community space Ridgewood Commons. We also have an email listserve and have hosted workshops, talks, and related conversations.
