Gas Gallery Archive

2023

Gas Gallery was a mobile, autonomous, experimental and networked platform for contemporary art located in a truck, parked at various sites around Los Angeles. Gas was founded and directed by Ceci Moss. Ceci commissioned us to complete a digital archive of Gas Gallery's archive upon its retirement.

The site presents the full history of Gas, including artwork, artists, zines, artist editions, event documentation and writing from the director. I served as project lead. Caleb Stone was the site designer, and created a gorgeous design. Andrew LeClair provided technical assistance. And a special thank you to Amelia Marzec who helped Caleb and I debug a difficult cross-browser issue. The project is part of my ongoing Archiving Artist-Run Spaces archival project.

Exhibitions

Archive website exhibited at Critical Making & Social Justice. June 9 - 10, 2023. HASTAC Conference. Steuben Gallery. Pratt Institute. Brooklyn, NY.
